This real stone – Dolomite Limestone from Minnesota – is hand-constructed using the Stone & Cement Technique (Quikrete Vinyl Patcher Cement). It's modeled by two "retired snowbirds". All windows and doors are painted and then "cast" (not glued) into the building so they won't "pop" out come spring.
The model includes building, platform (cement), and roof (cement) and weighs in at about 18 lbs.. There are discrete changes every now and then from what is shown above . . . different front door, smaller station master windows, etc. - if you didn't know, you couldn't tell. The chimney, gingerbread and lasered station sign (2) comes unattached. All have been painted and just need some gluing.
Name your station! When you order include the name of your depot's town. 15 letters is about max or the size will be smaller. Name will be lasered (engraved) on UV acrylic stock in black lettering on white background. (Picture coming)
We currently have several built, however, we may have to start a waiting list and let you know your position on the list. And should there be a slight wait, Stoneworks will never charge a credit card until the day your product ships. We are pleased to see Linda and Bob having fun, too. Thanks guys.
